Auckland on a Rainy Summer Day

Click on this picture for a larger view of the Quay and Sebel Hotel

Yesterday, whichever day that was, Sunday in the U.S. or Monday in N.Z., I arrived in Auckland and checked into the hotel. Knowing that succumbing to sleep was a bad idea, I walked the downtown area for about 4 hours. Although the Sebel Hotel entrance where the taxi dropped me off was on a narrow side street, the back door of the hotel opened to the Quay. Wow! The hotel is just to the left of the sky tower in the background. I ate dinner at a table next to some rowdy sailors at the cafe on the left. Going to sleep around 930 pm Auckland time I awoke refreshed at 6 am. I hope the jet lag doesn't catch me after a good start like this. I looked out the window of the hotel this morning and sadly its raining........ Sphere: Related Content
