Five Rivers Retreat Farm Stay

Roger Thompson has some great partners at his farm. They include Mate and Song, two of the most intense sheep dogs I have ever encountered. Below, Song and Mate control a herd of 50 deer.

Besides having to control about 250 deer, Roger and his partners move several hundred sheep from field to field as they feed and mate and are readied for market. It is a very full time business.
Mate spies an escaping sheep.

Mate closes in. They won't escape now.

Paula and Roger Thompson are the hosts at 5 Rivers Retreat http://www.fiveriversretreat.co.nz/

I enjoyed the dinner created by Paula with fresh vegetables from her garden with the blue shovel.

I give 5 Rivers 5 stars. This New Zealand couple are gracious easy to smile quick friends who made me feel at home immediately. I wish for more time another day when I can fish the abundant rivers of the Southland. Sphere: Related Content
