Arriving in Taupo, we were met by a van and a "limo" which took the intrepid travelers to the Lodge. It is raining, the lodge is beautiful and more will follow. Only now have solved the key for the local wireless.

This is the Tongariro River which is a short walk from the Lodge. Only one fisherman reported catching fish (we are an honest group - similar in composition to the pilgrims in the Canterbury Tales). The fisherman is Hans, whose Dad was an Air Force officer and once stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota, became entranced with fishing, stayed in Rapid City and now has a guide shop there. He caught 3 and saw, as he said, "the largest brown trout I've ever seen - maybe 30 inches." He didn't catch it. Sphere: Related Content

He didn't catch that trout because "Mr. Brown" was saving himself for you! Good luck!
